About

Request a correction or removal

Write to [email protected] with the address of the page and what is wrong with it. There is no form, because a form would collect more about you than the request needs.

What happens

  1. We check the claim against the source the page cites.
  2. If the source is wrong, we record the correction and say so on the page.
  3. If you are asking to be removed, we add you to the suppression list, which is checked on every future ingest. Your record does not come back on the next rebuild.
  4. We reply and tell you what we did.

If you operate a host we have measured

The same address works. Tell us the host name. We will correct or withdraw the page. If you would rather we stopped visiting altogether, disallow our user-agent in your robots.txt — see our crawler — and we will stop on the next pass without you needing to write to us at all.

What we keep about a request

The suppression list records the identifier that must not be republished and the date the request was upheld. It deliberately does not record your name or your email address: honouring a removal request should not require us to retain more personal data than the record being removed. Correspondence stays in the mailbox.
